Nine tall companions, 172 cm and upwards
Nine women on this desk stand at 172 cm or more, and the tallest reaches 178. It is a list guests either want very specifically or never think about, and there is rarely much middle ground.
Height reads differently out here than it does in a London bar. In a hotel lift full of people who have been travelling since five in the morning, being the tallest person present is a fact you either carry well or spend the evening apologising for, and none of these nine apologise.

Violetta is 178 cm, tall and slender, sleek black hair, and used to being looked at without minding it. Stacy is 176 cm and slim, near black hair, and entirely unfazed by an arrival at three in the morning. Milena is 175 cm and curvy, long black hair, and has stopped adjusting for being the tallest person in a lift.
Karolina and Samanta are both 174 cm and slim, one black haired and watchful, the other dark haired and the calmest half of any evening she is in. Michelle is 173 cm and curvy, tall enough to be noticed across a bar and composed enough not to enjoy it much, and Vanessa is 173 cm and slim with sandy brown balayage.
Angelika is 172 cm and athletic, and she crosses a hotel lobby without looking for an audience. Patricia is also 172 cm, slim and auburn brown, and calm in a part of the county that never quite stops.
What they are good for
Four of the nine are the names most often asked for when an evening has other people in it: a company dinner, an awards night, a table of eight where everybody has brought somebody. Samanta, Karolina and Violetta all handle a room full of strangers without effort, and Michelle is the listener of the group.
The other five are spread along the airport edge and the town hotels, where the evening is quieter and the height is simply how she is built. Stacy, Milena, Vanessa and Patricia all keep three hours as the shortest booking near the terminals, and Angelika is quickest to anything in Slough Central.
Choosing among the nine
Eight of the nine have brown eyes. Vanessa's are hazel, which with the sandy balayage makes her the lightest colouring on this list by some way.
For a dinner where the two of you will be looked at, Violetta or Karolina. For the night before a departure, Vanessa or Milena, both used to the Longford and terminal hotels. Stacy is the late one, Patricia the calm one after a delayed flight, and Michelle the listener for a Datchet evening. Samanta is the steady choice for a weeknight in town, and Angelika the one who has already timed the journey.
Where tall meets everything else
Six of the nine also sit on the slim and slender list and two on curvaceous, while Angelika is one of the toned and athletic five. Four of them are raven haired. By age, two are in the early twenties band, six in the late twenties and one in the thirties.
